Unreal Engine 4 Will Work On Wii U, Just Not To It’s Full Potential

March 30, 2013

Yesterday, many reports emerged claiming that Unreal Engine 4, the system hundreds of next-gen games will run on, will not work on the Wii U. However, this isn’t the case…..sort of…

It turns out Unreal Engine 4 does infact run on the Wii U. However, it will not run to it’s full potential.  This means the Wii U won’t be able use the same graphics, yet will still be able to use Unreal Engine 4. Epic Games president Mark Rein explains:

“If someone wants to take a game on Unreal Engine 4 and ship it to Wii U, they can! If they wanna ship an Unreal Engine 4 game to Xbox 360, they could make it happen.”

Mark Rein has also resoponded to the people who were criticizing him for his comments about the Wii U:

“Unreal Engine 3 is kicking ass on Wii U. The best games on Wii U are made on our technology. What more do you want from us?”
