World Nintendo News – We’re Back! + 2013 News Summary (Part One)

For several months, we were a new Nintendo website which you could trust to deliver the latest Nintendo news. However, since December, updates have been few and far between. However, we’re glad to confirm that as of March the 13th, we are here to stay!That’s correct, we are going to continue to post daily updates for you to enjoy. But what happened in the past 3 or so months that we missed out on? Don’t fear, we have a typical World Nintendo News Summary below, just to recap the the going on’s of the Nintendo world so far this calender year. Enjoy!

January 1st

  • Capcom not porting old games to Wii U 

January 2nd

  • Mutant Mudds Deluxe content exclusive to Wii U
  • Need for Speed: Most Wanted will have off-TV play
  • UK Video Games market fell by 17.3% in 2013

January 3rd

  • Mutant Mudds 2 coming to 3DS eShop

January 4th

  • GameStop – “Wii U sales slightly disappointing”

January 6th

  • Renegade Kid will stop publishing on the 3DS eShop if Piracy becomes a big issue

January 7th 

  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf has been downloaded 500,000 times on the 3DS eShop in Japan
  • Iwata – “Nintendo open to free-to-play games”, and, “Wii U selling steadily”
  • Tema Ninja – “Wii U is next-gen”

Pokemon X & Y

January 8th

  • Pokemon X & Y announced for the 3DS
  • 3DS sells over 10 Million in Japan
  • 320,000 Wii U’s sold in GameStop

January 10th

  • Fire Emblem: Awakening Demo coming to 3DS eSHop

January 11th

  • Wii U sells 890,000 consoles in North America

January 12th

  • Mutant Mudds Deluxe confirmed for 3DS eShop 

January 13th

  • North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 is the first Wii U Download only retail title outside of Japan

January 14th

  • Iwata – “Wii U will take a little time”
  • Zen Studios – “Wii U eShop is amazing”
  • Wii U has poor software sales

January 15th

  • Amazon Instant app released on North American Wii Shop
  • HMV goes into administration
  • Fire Emblem: Awakening takes up 1GB of space when downloaded form 3DS eShop
  • Renegade Kid developing many games for the Wii U eShop

January 16th

  • Blockbuster UK goes into administration
  • Wii U sells less then PS3 in Japan…
  • However 3DS outsells every other console once again
  • Ubisoft may make a ZombiU sequel

January 17th

  • Need for Speed: Wanted gets 9th March Wii U release date
  • Lego City Undercover: The Chase Confirmed for the 3DS – Will be a prequel to the Wii U game Lego City Undercover
  • 3DS game Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon coming to North America on March 24th
  • Brain Age: Concentration Training coming to North American 3DS consoles on February 10th
  • 3DS version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed coming to North America on Febuary 12th
  • Assassins Creed III DLC packs relesed for Wii U

January 21st

  • Castlevania: Mirror of Fate will take 16 hours to complete
  • Atari US files for bankruptcy

January 22nd

  • Scribblenauts Collection coming to 3DS
  • The Cave released for the Wii U eShop
  • Resident Evil: Revelations coming to the Wii U on May 21st

  • “Big” Wii U system updates coming in Spring and Summer
  • The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD coming to Wii U this years
  • Wii U Virtual Console coming this Spring. Will include NES & SNES at launch, but other consoles will be released later in the year
  • Yoshi’s Epic Yarn coming to Wii U
  • Mario Kart Wii U to be playable at E3
  • Wii U Zelda to be “something new”
  • Wii Fit U to get unique Miiverse communities
  • Wii U Party coming this summer

  • Spring Wii U system update supports use of two Game Pads
  • Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon Multiplayer Mode announced

January 25th

  • Super Smash Brothers Wii U/3DS to be shown at E3
  • Game & Wario coming to Japan on March 28th
  • Trine 2: Directors Cut Update available from Wii U eShop
  • FIFA franchise has made more then £1 Billion in the UK alone
  • 3DS Save Data Transfer Tool announced

January 27th

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 update coming soon

January 28th

  • Pokemon Black/White 2 best selling game of 2012 in Japan

January 30th

  • Nintendo announces overall quarterly profit
  •  Nintendo Lower 3DS/Wii U selling expectations

January 31st

  • NBA2K Demo released on Wii U eShop
  • Iwata may step down from his position
  • No Wii U price cut coming soon
